SCAD portfolio submission

This was a lot of fun to put together. I feel like I learned a ton too after all the critiques and hours of editing. Thanks to Jason for helping me with the layout.  SCAD requires 20 images for submission for its M.F.A photography program.  If I haven’t had a chance to touch base with you, this graduate program really just landed at my backdoor and I knew I was supposed to apply.  I’m trusting Him for the details of what’s next if I’m accepted.

This portfolio adequately illustrates what attracts my photographic eye… that’s people and architecture. As you watch you’ll see intentional movement through architecture, shape, texture and color. Each picture has it’s place in the flow of this portfolio. The ending image is a natural conclusion to this people and structures focus. This video should be large enough for you to watch in full screen mode (option in bottom right corner). In regards to acceptance, I hope to know something within the next two weeks.  If anyone is interested in my work flow for this project, let me know. It took some time and numerous twitter DMs to those more knowledgeable.  I used Final Cut Express and the images are .png files.  There are still minor color issues, but it’s as close as I could get it.

On another note, check out Nathan King’s photography. In my spare time, I’ll have the opportunity to help him on some of his up-coming shoots here in HK.  I met this native South African free lance photographer at a workshop here, and we exchanged cards.   Business cards can do a lot if you just hand them out with a smile…

stay tuned.

Great portfolio, I’m sure you’ll be accepted. I just applied myself as a transfer student for Summer 2011. I came across your page researching tips for my portfolio submissions. SCAD’s an awesome school, from what I can tell (even if it is a little expensive). Which campus are you planning to attend?
